This seamless fly-in safari visits three jewels of Northern Tanzania’s diverse crown: Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park. For each, we’ve selected the most exclusive lodge – giving unrivaled locations, great comfort, and an excellent game experience.
Tree Lodge stands in a dense forest in Lake Manyara National Park, where its guests have almost exclusive access to the wilderness around. As with all of these long-standing lodges, the experienced team here delivers a very high standard of food, accommodation, and personal care.
With breath-taking views across the crater floor, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge’s position is matchless across Africa. This decadent lodge is styled to the point of theatricality, yet still has top guides and a great location for early-morning safaris down to the Crater floor.
The last stop, Klein’s Camp, has another commanding location: high on a high ridge overlooking the vast Serengeti. On one side lie full-day safaris into the national park; on the other bush walks and night drives in Klein’s own exclusive reserve: the choice is always yours.
Swift flights between these areas bring the Rift Valley to life and combine smoothly with comfortable 4WDs – so you can make the most of your every minute on this amazing safari.
On arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a guide with a name board after you’ve collected your bags.
Of the many lodges that focus their activities on Tanzania’s Lake Manyara National Park, only one stands inside the park: Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.
Opened in 2002, it is located in the far south of the park, in a forest of mahogany, wild mango, and fig trees. The lodge has a long-standing reputation for its excellent location and high standards.
Occupying a spectacular spot right on the rim of the Crater, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is undoubtedly one of the most opulent lodges in Tanzania.
Combining architectural hints of traditional Maasai homesteads with interior styles borrowed from European stately homes, the present lodge was built in 1995.
To drive into the Ngorongoro Crater is to immerse yourself in a renowned wildlife park.
Prides of lion and clans of hyena patrol amongst herds of zebra, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelle, whilst flocks of crowned cranes keep out the way of jackals. Come for elephants with big tusks, too.
Klein’s Camp is a small, luxury lodge that was originally built as a hunting camp. It sits in its own 10,000-hectare private concession area in Loliondo. Klein’s leases this land from the Maasai and is for the exclusive use of the guests who stay here.
On our last trip to Klein’s we also visited two other &Beyond properties, and we found Klein’s to have the most relaxed feel to it. Having said that, it certainly doesn’t lack any of the professionalism or luxury of the other properties.
You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro in time to catch your onward flight.
