This is an amazing 5-day Tanzania wildlife luxury safari which includes a visit to the most popular national parks in Northern Tanzania. This safari package specifically starts with Tarangire National Park. You then continue the route down to the volcanic crater of Ngorongoro, aged more than 2 million years. Finally, visit the endless plains of the Serengeti and then Lake Manyara.
Today early in the morning your guide will pick you at your hotel. You will be picked up at in 07:00hrs and start your amazing journey to the Tarangire National Park. This park’s game viewing experience is magnificent, it is famous for its large collection of baobab trees, spectacular large mammal population and variety of bird species, not to mention one of the largest concentrations of elephants in East Africa.
After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big drawcard to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. We'll visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other waterbirds can usually be seen here. In the afternoon, you will start your drive to Serengeti and transit through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, entering the south of the park. Â
Today enjoy a full-day game drive in the Serengeti or a morning and afternoon game drive with a break and rest in between back at your safari lodge. You also have the option of a scenic hot air balloon safari early this morning at extra cost. The fabulous Serengeti is a singular safari destination in Africa. The oldest and largest intact land-based ecosystem in the world, the Serengeti is celebrated for its wealth of leopards and lions. Serengeti, meaning ‘endless plains,’ is home to the largest annual overland migration of mammals in the world, with over a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles along with a range of other antelope species gradually undergoing an over 800-km long trek seeking new grazing grounds.
Go on a morning to early afternoon game drive in the Serengeti. Enjoy wildlife viewing within the Serengeti National Park as you gradually make your exit to return back to Mto wa Mbu in the late afternoon. Departing the park, you have several optional visits available at extra cost, either to the Olduvai Gorge or a Maasai village (or both).
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species. You may see baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch out for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. You will have your picnic lunch in the park and after your game drive, you will say farewell to your guide. You will be dropped off at a place of your choice i.e. Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport.
