Frequently Asked Questions

Group climbs are open to anyone, offering a chance to meet travelers from around the world. Private climbs are exclusive to you and your companions, providing a more personalized experience. Group climbs have fixed departure dates, while private trips let you choose your schedule.

Group climbs use standard North Face tents and standard meal plans. Private climbs allow upgrades, premium meals, and other customizations. Both types have the same crew composition, safety standards, and dining setup.

Safari Nuggets runs group departures every few days, with more climbs during peak seasons (August, September, January, February). We rotate routes to offer variety, and in rare cases, can open a new group for your preferred dates.

Costs are shared among participants. Private climbs can be cost-effective for groups of 3+ since the per-person price decreases with more climbers.

Yes. Many choose group trips for the social experience and meeting like-minded travelers. Groups usually have 10–15 people, but can be smaller or larger depending on the season. Large groups are split into subgroups to maintain comfort and organization.

Participants come from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, and other countries. English is the main language used on trips.

Private climbs are ideal for families, friends, solo travelers, or anyone seeking a quieter, personalized experience. They’re also perfect for premium packages or custom itineraries, like camping in Kilimanjaro’s crater.

Safari Nuggets primarily uses the 7-day Lemosho, Machame, and Rongai routes for better acclimatization and scenic views. Shorter six-day options are less common.

Group climb dates are fixed. If dates don’t suit you, Safari Nuggets may open a new group or recommend a private climb.
