Keen to stand on the roof of Africa? Climb Kilimanjaro with us and make once-in-a-lifetime memories! The three itineraries below are our favourites and the ones we most recommend, as they’re all very beautiful and allow you to acclimatise properly – very important for a successful climb!
We offer four of the seven routes up Kilimanjaro – the best and safest ones! These routes range from seven to eleven days, but our itineraries include a night at a local lodge on either side of the climb.
Group climbs are open to anyone, offering a chance to meet travelers from around the world. Private climbs are exclusive to you and your companions, providing a more personalized experience. Group climbs have fixed departure dates, while private trips let you choose your schedule.
Group climbs use standard North Face tents and standard meal plans. Private climbs allow upgrades, premium meals, and other customizations. Both types have the same crew composition, safety standards, and dining setup.
Safari Nuggets runs group departures every few days, with more climbs during peak seasons (August, September, January, February). We rotate routes to offer variety, and in rare cases, can open a new group for your preferred dates.
Costs are shared among participants. Private climbs can be cost-effective for groups of 3+ since the per-person price decreases with more climbers.
Yes. Many choose group trips for the social experience and meeting like-minded travelers. Groups usually have 10–15 people, but can be smaller or larger depending on the season. Large groups are split into subgroups to maintain comfort and organization.
Participants come from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, and other countries. English is the main language used on trips.
Private climbs are ideal for families, friends, solo travelers, or anyone seeking a quieter, personalized experience. They’re also perfect for premium packages or custom itineraries, like camping in Kilimanjaro’s crater.
Safari Nuggets primarily uses the 7-day Lemosho, Machame, and Rongai routes for better acclimatization and scenic views. Shorter six-day options are less common.
Group climb dates are fixed. If dates don’t suit you, Safari Nuggets may open a new group or recommend a private climb.
EXCELLENT Based on 28 reviews Posted on Ahmed MounirVerified Unforgettable 5 Day Safari with Safari Nuggets It was an amazing experience doing our safari with Safari Nuggets! They prepared everything perfectly and always made sure we were comfortable while helping us tick off all the bucket list wildlife experiences something that isn’t easy to guarantee in the wild.We did a 5 day safari covering Tarangire, Serengeti (Central & North), and Ngorongoro, and we managed to see the Big Five along with many other unique animals. The whole trip was seamless, and the value for money was excellent with their competitive prices and deep expertise in wildlife.A very special thanks to Ele, our driver guide he was outstanding and went above and beyond our expectations.Highly recommended!Posted on Will DVerified 6 Day Safari Tour Our safari trip to the Serengeti was truly unforgettable. Escape the Ordinary! Our trip with Safari Nuggets was outstanding. We chose their 7 Day Off The Beaten Path Safari, and it was the perfect fit for our travel style. Our guide and driver Matthew was incredibly kind and extremely good at placing us in the perfect spots. We saw every animal we had hoped for! Matthew got me up close to a cheetah, which was top of my personal list :) We watched a lionness hunt zebra, lion cubs playing, rhinos walking around, a leopard stalking a dik-dik, and more giraffes and elephants than I could count. We even got to visit the Hadzabe and Datoga, which was unforgettable in itself. Amazing--and all in one week! We travel regularly, primarily on our own. I mention that to emphasize how Safari Nuggets met all of my expectations and more. The accomodations and food were perfect for us, the itinerary was well organized, and our guide was simply awesome. The drives are long, and like Matthew told us, the vehicle makes or breaks the trip. It was a well equipped, comfortable safari jeep that we had zero problems with. If you can't tell by now, I'll say it plainly: I would recommend Safari Nuggets to everyone! I can't thank them enough for making our trip so special.Posted on Robert SVerified Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Lemosho climb Climbed Kilimanjaro in October 2024 with Safari Nuggets via the eight-day Lemosho route. It was a private expedition as it turned out, with my wife and I being accompanied by a team of twelve highly professional men. Guide Johnson, assistant guide Joy (indeed always cheerful), chef Present and 9 porters, each with his own task. The trip was excellently prepared by Lolarip and his team. Picked up from the airport exactly on time, excellent accommodation in Moshi, good instructions on what to bring in terms of clothes, shoes and other things. Then to the mountain with the whole team and then we really enjoyed the environment with the changing scenery during the climb. Each day was a manageable distance to walk, the porters walked ahead and took care of setting up camp. No new, but good gear and a private toilet. Delicious food prepared by Present and a cheerful Billy who also had the role of waiter, but also took every opportunity to teach us some Swahili! We were lucky with the clear weather on the day of the climb to the summit, so the visibility combined with the full moon was excellent. The sunrise was unforgettable! Fortunately, because of the 8-day format and the leisurely pace (pole-pole), we did not suffer from altitude sickness. By the way, that was tested twice every day during the medical checkup. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend Safari Nuggets to anyone! Even after our trip ended (when we went to Zanzibar on our own), Lolarip was happy to help us solve some problems. Thanks!Posted on Anna MVerified Trip of a lifetime We spent nine days touring the Northern Safari Circuit including Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Natron and it was absolutely superb. As is always my way, I left the organising of the trip to the last minute, but Lolarip was unflappable – prompt to reply, utterly flexible and he found us the very best accommodation for our budget and all at short notice. Our guide Salehe was wonderful – an incredible driver and extremely knowledgeable. I am a keen birder and Salehe helped identify and me learn about hundreds of new species AND he didn't grumble even when I made him stop for every lilac-breasted roller rather than focusing on looking for leopards. I can't recommend Safari Nuggets highly enough -- it was a brilliant adventure from start to finish. :)Posted on DavidVerified Trip of a lifetime Just back from an amazing 10 day adventure on the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit, all neatly organised with Lolarip from Safari Nuggets. From to outset, communication was fluid, and the camps we chose all lived up to the advice given during the planning phase. Everything was pre-paid and the only thing we had to cover at the lodges were the incidentals.I think the particular highlights for me was visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, and spending the evenings in the camps on the rim, not forgetting the enchanting Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge we visited en-route.I’d like to thank our driver Salehe for the excellent job he did driving over 2000km on some very challenging terrains. Not only did he make every effort to ensure we saw all the big game, his knowledge of birds was first rate and we got to see and photograph many interesting species.I would recommend Safari Nuggets without hesitation.Posted onVerified 超级难忘的旅行 The first email asked me to choose safari nuggets, because the boss's reply was very organized and clear, and the communication was very good. There is no need to say the rest. It's perfect.中文向导的报价很实在,小哥叫希望,他陪了我们6天的行程,一路聊得很开心!!司机Nicholas比较沉默寡言~但是车技相当好,也找到了超多适合拍照的位置!photo by me😋⬇️Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
